چکیده
Abstract Background Successful eradication of hepatitis C virus (HCV) has great impact on the prognosis HCV-related complications and associated mortality. The development new direct-acting antiviral drugs (DAAs) revolutionized treatment HCV infection. core antigen (HCVcAg) is a recently developed marker that displayed good correlation with RNA assays. Our main objectives were to correlate between serum levels HCVcAg loads in chronic patients as well explore potential value assay predicting response DAAs. study enrolled total 280 HCV-infected scheduled start regimen for by all-oral, interferon-free According viral load, studied individuals arranged into three groups corresponding mild, moderate, sever viremia. Serum level was determined ELISA technique quantified using real-time PCR system. assays performed times all participants: prior initiation treatment, at end (week 12), 3 months post-treatment cessation 24). Results A statistically significant difference baseline among different viremia detected ( P < 0.001). There positive values cases 0.05) coefficient 0.752, 0.976, 1.00 respectively severe groups. 92.9% (260/280) achieved sustained virologic response, 3.6% (10/280) non-responders, had recurrent viremia/relapse regards RT-PCR results. Conclusion promising alternative assay. ELISAs proved excellent correlations levels. Moreover, can be introduced simple highly specific tool monitoring DAA regimens particularly low-resource settings.

New treatment of hepatitis C (Direct Acting Antiviral)
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is a major cause of chronic liver disease, with approximately 71 million chronically infected individuals worldwide. Clinical care for the patients with HCV-related liver disease has advanced considerably thanks to an enhanced understanding of the pathophysiology of the disease, and because of developments in diagnostic procedures and improvements in therapy an...
متن کاملDirect-acting antiviral medications for chronic hepatitis C virus infection.
Treatment of hepatitis C virus has traditionally been difficult because of low rates of treatment success and high rates of treatment discontinuation due to side effects. Current standard therapy consists of pegylated interferon α and ribavirin, both of which have nonspecific and largely unknown mechanisms of action. New therapies are in development that act directly on the hepatitis C virus at...

Background and objective: Human is the only host of hepatitis C virus. This virus has a positive single stranded RNA and lipoprotein envelop that has 7 confirmed genotypes. According to studies, genotypes 1a, 3a and 1b are the most common genotypes in Iran. No effective vaccine against HCV infection has been developed instead, advances in antiviral treatment using drugs that directly affect spe...
متن کاملImmunological Response and Prevalence of Occult HCV Genotype 4 Among Patients Receiving Direct-Acting Antiviral (DAA) Drugs: A Cross-sectional Study
Background and Objective: Infection with the hepatitis C virus (HCV) is an endemic public health problem with long-term consequences, especially in Egypt. Egypt has one of the highest incidence rates of HCV worldwide. The current cross-sectional study aims to determine how prevalent occult HCV infection is and how it affects the individual's immune response. Methods: The studied adult patient...
متن کاملComparison of Hcv Rna and Hcv Core Antigen in Genotype 1 Chronic Hepatitis C Patients
Background: Anti-HCV test is currently used in the diagnosis of hepatitis C, while hepatitis C virus ribonucleic acid (HCV RNA) is used in the determination of viral load. Recently developed hepatitis C virus core antigen (HCV Ag) test is also used in the diagnosis of hepatitis C. The aim of this study was to compare HCV Ag and quantitative HCV RNA in terms of sensitivity and specificity as wel...
